The Board will ensure that students are not forced to travel far from their home schools

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), on Monday, said that it will hold its first board examination for Class 12 students from December 1 to 22. The first board examination for Class 10 students will begin on November 30 and run till December 11.

A large number of schools will be fixed as self-centres, keeping in mind the distance and comfort of the students during the pandemic, said CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj. For others, CBSE will ensure that students are not forced to travel far from their home schools, he added.

For minor subjects which are not offered by all schools, datesheets will be sent to schools and these exams will be conducted in schools themselves, although CBSE will provide the question papers. Minor subject exams will be starting on November 16 and 17 for Class 12 and 10 respectively.

The board had said the exams will be objective and the duration of the tests will be 90 minutes. The exams will start from 11.30 am instead of 10.30 am in view of the winter season.
